Whether you like hiking, swimming, observing nature, relaxing with a book to the sounds of the waterfall, or grilling out, this place is for you. A natural waterfall cascading into multiple pools enhances the calm serenity that one needs to reconnect to nature. One of the top places to visit in Connecticut.
Chapman falls and the stone bridge can be easily viewed at the trail head with viewing areas at the top and bottom of the falls. Devil's Oven (a tiny cave above a steep incline) and a small covered bridge are located a short distance beyond that. be sure to hike the orange trail and enjoy the beautiful view from the overlook at the end! The hiking experience varies from easy clear paths to steeper inclines; however, the steep inclines are short and shouldn't be difficult for experienced hikers who are in good health.
Awesome park it was my first time here in years! Great place to do fishing and a great place to do hiking
Beautiful scenery, challenging hikes, gorgeous water falls. You need park security to keep idiots from climbing into dangerous fall zones within the falls mostly teens without proper equipment risking their lives for a selfie. This has been seen on every visit.
Beautiful park with well kept trails and a waterfall that you can get up close and personal with. Plenty of space for picnics and some camping available. Really loved walking along the stream through the diverse forest. Will definitely be returning!
